About

I began flying at the age of 14 and obtained a CFI certificate just after my senior year of high school. I attended Drury University in Springfield, Missouri and completed degrees in both Economics and Business. During that time I was actively employed as a Flight Instructor, traffic patrol, banner tow, and skydive pilot.

I began my full time professional career flying both turboprop and jet aircraft for various Part 121 regional airlines. During an extended furlough I was employed by a Part 91 corporate flight department operating a Citation V while simultaneously returning to my roots as a flight instructor.

Today I am in my 19th year with United Airlines where I serve as a Boeing 737 Captain and Line Check Pilot with QCL and PCA-ILI designations.

Whether I’m in the air or on the ground, I enjoy “logging” time with friends and family, mentoring aviators of all ages and experience levels and helping them achieve their desired goals, promoting overall industry safety and efficiency, participating in General Aviation activities, and attempting to master the guitar and golf swing.

I consider myself beyond lucky to have acquired a passion where I can intermingle career and hobby. This powerful synergy has afforded me the opportunity to own and operate my own aircraft, a B-55 Baron and to pursue other diversified investments, particularly in real estate. My wish is that anyone reading this will experience similar luck, success, deep camaraderie, and absolute pleasure that aviation has brought to my life. I hope that I can be a part of your success story as you move forward with a new certificate or rating.
